Now the Corvette’s differential has received two coats of rust remover, and there should be 24 hours between each application. After a few days it will get a primer coat, and then an aluminum-colored topcoat. Now that everything has been stripped off, it’s possible to clean properly, and behind all the layers of paint and underbody coating the fiberglass is now appearing. The plan is to make sure everything is thoroughly cleaned here and then keep all paint away. It might even be that the car is losing some weight now that all the old paint is gone. Maybe that will compensate for the new paint on the differential housing.
